Bronchial pneumonia (bronchopneumonia) 40x
Inflammatory cell infiltration can be seen in lung tissue located near the bronchi. In the lumina of bronchi there is large amount of neutrophilic granulocytes and also exfoliated pieces of respiratory epithelium of bronchi (post mortem sample). From the bronchi the inflammatory infiltrate has spread to the surrounding pulmonary alveoli of bronchi, where can be seen large amount of neutrophilic granulocytes in places (*). There are also macrophages visible. Between inflammatory areas there is also homogenic, pink-stained oedemic liquid. Capillaries of alveolar septi are hyperemic. 40x magnification, HE-staining.
