Pulmonary emphysema (empysema pulmonum) 100x
The sample is a piece of lung, where the walls of alveoli are ripped so that alveoli have united and forms larger alveolar spaces. The alveolar septi have been stretched and they look avascular. Also the bronhioli have been dilated. Some intra-alveolar macrophages can be seen. In addition, some inflammatory cells in the alveoli walls exists. 100x magnification, HE-staining.
